CIMMYT is a cutting-edge, non-profit, international organization dedicated to solving tomorrow's problems today, entrusted with fostering improved quantity, quality, and dependability of production systems and basic cereals such as maize, wheat, triticale, sorghum, millets, and associated crops through applied agricultural science, particularly in the Global South. CIMMYT is a core CGIAR Research Center, a global research partnership dedicated to reducing poverty, enhancing food and nutrition security, and improving natural resources.

We are seeking a proactive Assistant Research Associate to support the planning and execution of research activities, ensuring high standards of quality, compliance, and operational efficiency. The position is responsible for managing research activities, supporting distribution processes and improving physical and digital data capture formats.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage research activities related to germplasm introduction, regeneration, processing, conservation, and distribution.
- Carry on the Germplasm Bank's technical, logistical, documentation, and training operations.
- Supervise and apply rigorous quality control to passport, characterization, and evaluation data.
- Support the review of internal and external audits through documenting findings, nonconformities and corrective actions.
- Facilitate guided visits and awareness-raising activities.

Requirements:
- Master's degree in Agronomy, Biosciences or related fields, or equivalent years of work experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in similar roles under plant breeding, seed science and crop science.
- Knowledge of international research standards, including FAO, Genesys or ISO.
- Intermediate English (B2).
- Intermediate MS Office skills.
