GGGI's Carbon Transaction Facility (CTF) supports member and partner countries in Article 6 carbon trading through its Article 6 Readiness Facility and multiple ITMO-purchasing Carbon Funds, including ACCTIF, NACA, and SACF. GGGI seeks a Legal Consultant to provide legal and contractual support to the Carbon Fund teams and strengthen legal capacity among stakeholders.

Under supervision of the NACA Fund Manager, the Consultant will support drafting, review, and negotiation of legal documents including Term Sheets, Indicative Offers, Mitigation Outcome Purchase Agreements (MOPAs), Letters of Intent, and MOUs; develop and standardize legal templates; monitor compliance with carbon contracts including timelines and reporting obligations; review documents for alignment with GGGI policies and donor requirements; conduct legal research on carbon markets and Article 6 mechanisms; support due diligence and risk identification; prepare legal memoranda and briefing notes; support negotiations with counterparties; develop and deliver training on carbon transaction agreements; and support coordination with external counsel and government counterparts.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Law required, advanced degree in a related field an asset; minimum 5 years relevant experience in legal drafting, contract management, or commercial transactions; experience drafting and reviewing contracts and legal memoranda; exposure to climate finance, carbon markets, or environmental law strongly preferred; familiarity with Article 6 mechanisms an asset; strong legal drafting, analytical, and research skills; excellent written and spoken English. This is an individual consultant assignment; engagement through a consortium or firm is not permitted.
