Danish Refugee Council, one of the world's leading humanitarian NGOs, is looking for a qualified Community Mobilizer for operations in Jigjiga & Dire Dawa, Ethiopia. The Community Mobilizer will support implementation of DRC's mixed migration project by engaging with communities and people on the move, disseminating protection and legal information, identifying protection concerns, facilitating referrals, and strengthening community participation and linkages with services along migration routes. Duties include conducting outreach and information sessions with migrants, returnees and host communities; disseminating information on legal rights, protection and legal aid services, case management, and safe migration pathways; supporting the Protection Team with reporting; engaging women, girls, persons with disabilities and other vulnerable groups; conducting risk assessments and facilitating referrals; supporting community-based protection structures and networks; and maintaining accurate records of outreach and referrals. Requirements: experience working with migrants, returnees, refugees, IDPs or other vulnerable populations; at least one year of experience with vulnerable communities, distribution programming and advocacy; proven community engagement and facilitation skills; NGO/UN experience highly regarded; diploma or bachelor's degree in social sciences, community development, education or related field; proficiency in English essential, with local language skills desirable. Contract length is 12 months, National Contract, Band J, with a start date of 15 October 2026. Only qualified Ethiopian nationals are encouraged to apply.
