icddr,b is a Bangladesh-based international health research institute dedicated to solving key public health problems through high-quality scientific research and innovation. The Immunobiology, Nutrition and Toxicology unit under the Nutrition Research Division conducts multiple research projects, including the GEOHealth study examining the impact of air pollution on cardiopulmonary health among rural women and children.

Key Responsibilities: The Study Physician will report to the Principal Investigator and will maintain liaison with the PI and Study Coordinator for proper implementation of the study; conduct eligibility assessment and obtain consent from enrolled patients; collect clinical history of participants; motivate and counsel participants to maintain adherence; supervise the field team at 2 study sites; perform, review and interpret ECG and spirometry reports; extract and maintain data from medical devices; communicate with hospital consultants to validate abnormal findings; review blood pressure, anthropometric parameters and fasting blood glucose; coordinate with internal labs for specimen analysis; provide medical advice, prescriptions, or referrals including during emergencies; prepare reports such as severe adverse events and presentation slides for the ethics board; and provide health-related advice during focus group discussions.

Required qualifications and experience: MBBS degree from a Medical College recognized by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council with completion of one-year internship training; 1 year of relevant experience including clinical trials, respiratory medicine, or CVD.

Location: Dhaka with frequent visits to study field sites. Number of positions: 1. Contract Type: Contractual Services Agreement (CSA) basis; duration 6 months with possibility of extension subject to performance. Salary & benefits: Tk. 96,120/- per month (consolidated) inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances, festival bonus, income tax paid by icddr,b, and subsidized canteen; transport and daycare facilities subject to space availability.
