IDA is an independent non-governmental organization providing medical and humanitarian assistance to people affected by conflicts, natural disasters, and epidemics regardless of race, religion, gender, or political affiliation. The organization is hiring a Midwife for its Health department in Aleppo.
Responsibilities: Provide healthcare and nursing care to pregnant women and mothers according to approved standards and procedures; monitor women in labor, tracking vital signs and the condition of mother and fetus; conduct and follow up examinations monitoring labor progress within the scope of midwifery practice; assist women during natural childbirth and provide necessary care before, during, and after delivery; monitor mother and newborn after birth to ensure stable health status; identify early warning signs and complications during pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum, and immediately inform the physician or medical team; provide initial care for newborns and follow up their condition after birth; support and encourage breastfeeding and provide health education to mothers on newborn care; maintain infection control, sterilization, and patient safety procedures; accurately document all procedures and observations related to mother and newborn in medical records; collaborate and coordinate with doctors, nurses, and health team members to ensure safe and integrated care; maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to professional ethics and hospital policies; participate in obstetric emergencies and provide necessary support within scope of competence; commit to shift schedules and perform other related tasks as needed.
Qualifications: Midwifery certificate; professional practice license; prior experience in obstetrics and gynecology, hospital experience preferred; good knowledge of pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum care practices; ability to handle obstetric emergencies; good communication and teamwork skills; ability to work under pressure and commit to shift schedules.
