IDA is an independent non-governmental organization providing medical and humanitarian assistance to people affected by conflicts, natural disasters, and epidemics regardless of race, religion, gender, or political affiliation. The organization is hiring a Sterilization Technician for its Health department.

Responsibilities: Clean, prepare, and sterilize medical tools and equipment according to approved procedures and standards; receive and sort used medical tools and supplies and prepare them for cleaning and sterilization; operate sterilization devices and monitor sterilization cycles per approved operating instructions; verify the effectiveness of sterilization processes using chemical and biological indicators; prepare and package medical tools and equipment before sterilization to ensure safety; store sterilized tools and supplies in an organized and safe manner; monitor the validity and safety of sterilized materials and ensure they are not contaminated; prepare and deliver sterilized tools to various departments as requested; strictly adhere to infection control and occupational safety procedures when handling contaminated tools; maintain cleanliness and order in the sterilization area; accurately document sterilization processes, cycles, tests, and required records; report any malfunction in sterilization devices or issues affecting sterilization safety; comply with hospital policies and infection control standards; perform other related tasks as needed.

Qualifications: Prior experience in central sterilization or infection control; good knowledge of cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilizing medical tools; ability to operate and monitor various sterilization devices; strict adherence to infection control and occupational safety procedures; ability to work within a team and handle work pressure; accuracy and attention to detail in handling medical tools; willingness to work shifts as needed by the hospital.
