The Good Food Institute Europe (GFI Europe) is looking for a Senior Policy Manager to join its EU Policy team in Brussels, working to deliver supportive research & innovation policy for plant-based foods, cultivated meat and fermentation in the EU. Reporting to the Deputy Head of Policy – EU, the role is responsible for influencing the EU to increase public investment in research and innovation for alternative proteins. Responsibilities include leading strategy and engagement for R&I policy work in Brussels, including influencing the EU's next research framework programme (FP10/Horizon Europe); building relationships with officials at the European Commission, European Parliament, and Council of the EU; developing policy-relevant recommendations with the Science & Technology team; leading meetings and speaking at events with policymakers and scientists; monitoring EU R&I policy developments; collaborating with other NGOs and stakeholders; acting as a media spokesperson; and line managing one team member. Candidates must have experience working on EU, national or multilateral policy, experience leading initiatives that shape legislation, strong relationship-building and communication skills, and experience line managing others. Full-time, permanent (0.8 FTE considered), home-based in Belgium (Brussels or within one hour by train) or hybrid. Salary: €4,645–€5,000 gross monthly plus benefits (13th month, home-working allowance, holiday pay, representation allowance, meal and eco vouchers, professional development allocation). Candidates must have the right to work in Belgium by the start of employment.
