CARE is one of the world's leading humanitarian organisations, working in over 100 countries, supporting women and girls to save lives, defeat poverty and achieve social justice. The GEDSI Lead is responsible for ensuring CARE's programs are compliant with GEDSI policies and standards set by CARE Australia, the CARE Confederation and donors, supporting development, maintenance and application of systems, organisational policies and approaches across CA and country offices. The role provides or facilitates GEDSI technical support to country offices and partners, brokers key technical and strategic partnerships, and plays a key role in fundraising for GEDSI programming. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with CARE Australia, CARE International, DFAT and donor GEDSI policies; maintaining compliance tracking and reporting systems; providing technical leadership and advisory support on gender equality, disability equity, social inclusion, gender-based violence, engaging men and boys, social norms change, GEDSI-integrated MEAL, and gender in emergencies; leading or facilitating GEDSI analyses and strategies; and supporting business development and fundraising. Candidates should have proven ability to deliver GEDSI technical advice and capacity building, skill in reviewing project designs integrating GEDSI good practice, background in international development and humanitarian response (Pacific experience desirable), ability to work in diverse teams with cross-cultural skills and feminist, locally led approaches, and strong familiarity with DFAT as a project donor including compliance reporting and GEDSI policies. This is a 2-year maximum term, full-time position with flexible work options including up to 3 days work from home per week.
