Restless Development Uganda is an agency for youth-led change, supporting young leaders across Karamoja, West Nile, Eastern and Central Uganda to influence decisions affecting their lives. The Programme Coordinator, Youth Engagement will lead implementation of Restless Development Uganda's youth employment and market systems portfolio, ensuring young people are meaningfully engaged throughout programme design, delivery and learning. Working with the programme manager, partners and internal teams, the role coordinates youth engagement approaches that strengthen young people's agency, participation and ownership of employment and enterprise pathways, particularly for young women, refugees and young people with disabilities.
Key responsibilities include coordinating youth engagement activities and integrating meaningful youth engagement principles across programmes; strengthening capacity of Youth-Led Organisations and consortium partners; managing programme budgets and ensuring transparent financial management; monitoring and reporting on youth engagement activities and programme targets; line managing the Programme Officer - Youth Engagement; and upholding safeguarding, diversity, equity and inclusion commitments.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Community Development, Youth Development, Education, Project Management or related field; at least 3 years' experience coordinating or implementing youth-focused development programmes in Uganda; experience working with Youth-Led Organisations, Community-Based Organisations and community stakeholders; demonstrated experience in meaningful youth engagement or capacity strengthening; strong programme coordination, facilitation and stakeholder management skills; and excellent written and spoken English. Salary: UGX 73,299,474 gross per annum. Contract length: 2 years. This position is contingent upon availability of funding.
