Save the Children invites applications for the position of Finance & Accounts Specialist, based in Bangladesh. This is a permanent, full-time role within the Finance function.
The Opportunity: The Finance and Accounts Specialist will provide effective financial management and accounting support to the EARN Project, ensuring that project resources are managed efficiently, transparently, and in compliance with Save the Children policies, donor requirements, applicable government regulations, and approved project budgets. The position will work closely with the Project, Operations, Supply Chain, Partnership and Finance teams to ensure timely financial planning, accurate accounting, effective budget monitoring, strong internal controls, and quality financial reporting. S/he will also support financial due diligence and monitoring of EARN implementing partners, where applicable.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant finance and accounting experience, preferably within an INGO or donor-funded project environment.
- Excellent analytical skills - ability to analyse complex financial data and design and produce effective management information.
- Ability to contribute to a small, proactive team, motivating staff and working collaboratively with colleagues and providing support and advice as necessary.
- Willingness and ability to dramatically change work practices and hours, and work with incoming surge teams, in the event of emergencies.
- A full appreciation of the value of co-operation, both internationally and within a team environment.
- Written and verbal fluency in English.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage a complex and diverse workload and to work to tight deadlines.
- Hands-on experience of computerised accounts packages and Excel, PowerPoint.
- Master's Degree in a relevant discipline (preferably in Finance & Accounting/Business Administration/Management etc.).
