Project Brief:
The BRAC Climate Change Programme (CCP) supports communities to develop their capacity to adapt to climate change and improve their resilience to climate change, as well as supporting communities and organisations to reduce their climate change impact. Job Purpose:
This position is responsible for designing, managing, and evaluating greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction initiatives to reduce the organization’s carbon footprint and support its climate objectives. The role involves translating climate goals into measurable and credible carbon reduction and carbon credit opportunities in compliance with relevant national and international standards. It also ensures robust carbon accounting, monitoring, reporting, and verification (MRV) to support evidence-based decision-making and sustainability reporting. This is a contractual position and initial contract will be one year.

Key Responsibilities:
• Responsible for building and maintaining detailed Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions inventories for assigned BRAC programmes, applying standard emission factors and GHG Protocol methodologies.
• Ensure the accuracy and quality of technical calculations, baseline assessments, and documentation for community- and nature-based carbon reduction initiatives in accordance with Verra (VCS), Gold Standard, and relevant national frameworks.
• Responsible for establishing, monitoring, and troubleshooting day-to-day Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) data systems and processes to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and verifiability of project data.
• Responsible for conducting technical quality assessments of additionality, baseline scenarios, permanence, and leakage risks to ensure alignment with applicable carbon standards and registry requirements.
• Ensure the extraction, cleaning, analysis, and structuring of carbon-related operational data to support BRAC’s sustainability reporting in alignment with the IFRS Sustainability Standards (ISSB).
• Provide the necessary technical guidance, tools, and support to programme and field teams to ensure consistent and reliable emissions data collection and tracking.
• Responsible for organizing meetings, seminars, training sessions, and workshops to facilitate knowledge sharing, stakeholder engagement, and meaningful participation of beneficiaries.
• Responsible for conducting research, collecting data, and analysing relevant topics as requested by the supervisor.
• Perform any other job responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

Safeguarding Responsibilities:
• Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
• Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
• Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.

Educational Requirements:
Bachelor’s/ Masters in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Climate Change, Climate Science, Renewable Energy, Sustainable Development, Energy Management, Carbon Management, or other relevant disciplines will be preferred.

Experience Requirements:
Minimum 05 years of hands-on technical experience in GHG accounting, carbon offset project design, or environmental data analysis. Direct experience working with Verra (VCS) or Gold Standard credit methodologies and documentation. Proven track record of supporting at least one carbon inventory or credit project through third-party verification

Additional Job Requirements:
• Support capacity-building initiatives, including training and knowledge-sharing sessions on GHG accounting, carbon footprint assessment, MRV, and carbon management.
• Monitor emerging developments in carbon markets, GHG accounting methodologies, climate-related disclosure requirements, and relevant national and international standards.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and data management skills for GHG inventory and carbon footprint assessment.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to interpret complex technical and carbon-related information
