The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF), located in Princeton, N.J., is a leading national philanthropy dedicated to transforming health in America, focused on dismantling structural racism and other barriers to health. The Healthy Children and Families (HCF) strategic portfolio focuses on Economic Inclusion for Family Wellbeing and other Generational Goals.
Reporting to the associate managing director, HCF, the Program Associate supports execution of operational, programmatic, team coordination, and strategic grantmaking work: assisting portfolio leadership in coordination and management; conducting project research and learning; and working with internal/external colleagues, consultants, grantees, and applicants to implement strategies and plans.
Key Responsibilities:
Portfolio Operations (20%): coordinating processes and program-focused activities, developing agendas, planning portfolio meetings, preparing reports and internal communications, supporting grantee/partner engagement, maintaining team platforms.
Program Development, Implementation, and Management (50%): centering equity in program development; gathering and synthesizing background research; coordinating grant-making and funding processes including site visits and proposal reviews; supporting program development; engaging experts and grantees to develop strategies.
Grantmaking and Other Processes (30%): implementing grantmaking processes including calls for proposals, evaluating proposals, and grant summary writing; representing the Foundation publicly; building relationships with grantees and field leaders.
Minimum Requirements: Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion; two years of experience in a relevant field or a master's degree; strong project management, research, and communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and Salesforce.
Salary: non-negotiable starting salary $84,000, up to $92,400 for candidates exceeding minimum requirements.
