JOB PURPOSE: The Programme Intern will assist with programme operations and implementation of assigned tasks and activities at the Country Office level or at TeleDoctor Zambia, an organization with which Amref Health Africa in Zambia has signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The intern will report substantively to the Partnerships Lead at TeleDoctor Zambia and administratively to the Project Manager for the Africa Health Collaborative (AHC) project at Amref Health Africa in Zambia.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Participate in planning and implementation of project activities and preparation of work plans and progress reports; participate in capacity building activities, field visits and meetings with partners and stakeholders to strengthen networks and partnerships; assist with routine monitoring and evaluation, periodic project review meetings and supervision with local stakeholders; assist with preparation and timely submission of monthly and quarterly project reports; support identification and engagement of partners (hospitals, clinics, pharmacies, labs, corporates, NGOs); assist with drafting proposals, concept notes and partnership documents; conduct basic market research and stakeholder mapping; support coordination of meetings, health activations and outreach; assist in coordinating virtual consultations and referrals and onboarding of healthcare providers onto the platform; help manage appointment scheduling and follow-ups; assist with data entry, reporting and service quality monitoring; provide first-line support via phone, WhatsApp, email and social media, assisting patients with bookings, medicine delivery and lab services and handling inquiries and complaints; assist in researching and developing health content for TV, radio and digital platforms, including pre-production, recordings and post-production documentation; assist in compiling routine operational, clinical and administrative reports; support compliance with health systems, quality standards and internal protocols; assist with inventory tracking and service utilization records; host online meetings and manage calendars and webinars; develop and present a health solutions project; and deliver other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES: Bachelor's degree in Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing or equivalent (academic certificates must be verified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority, ZAQA); recently graduated. Skilled in problem-solving; collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal capabilities; monitoring and reporting skills; ability to work effectively under pressure; exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with others internally and externally; ability to perform multiple tasks and meet critical deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality.
