About the role: Reporting to the Partnership and Business Development Lead, the Government and Multilateral Funding Manager drives sustained growth in income and impact outcomes by engaging and cultivating strong relationships with existing and new institutional funding partners. The role co-creates and leads bidding with MCCs and Global Programmes teams, securing multi-year, multi-million government and multilateral funding awards, and co-leads delivery of the government and multilateral funding strategy.
Main responsibilities include: implementing an ambitious strategic framework to build partnerships with agreed government and multilateral funding partners (Global Climate Funds, UN, World Bank, Regional Development Banks, bilateral donors including UK and devolved Governments, European and other Governments); acquiring, developing and retaining key donor relationships across Government Departments; building and maintaining a forward opportunity pipeline, collaborating closely with CA Ireland; overseeing agreed Supplier Framework Agreements; leading bid preparation on tenders and grants; collaborating with Impact colleagues to onboard new programmes; and pitching new strategic Signature Programmes. The role may include line management of an advisor-level role.
About you (essential): highly developed communication, networking, consulting and relationship-building skills with Government Departments, INGOs, NGOs, private sector and country missions; advanced negotiation and conflict resolution at senior levels; strong research, organisational, planning and prioritisation skills; substantial knowledge of humanitarian programming and donor funding modalities with UN, EU and bilateral donors and/or international climate funding architecture and Global Climate Funds; a proven track record of securing multiple multi-million-pound awards; substantial experience with project design, monitoring and evaluation; experience developing, writing and budgeting technical grant and service contract bids with strong Excel skills; and detailed understanding of institutional donor programming and partnership models. Desirable: bachelor's degree or equivalent, line management experience including remote teams and coaching, medium-level proficiency in French or Spanish, and experience negotiating government grant and supplier contracts including compliance agreements.
