Under the overall authority of the Regional Director of UNESCO Regional Office in Bangkok and under the direct supervision of the Head of Antenna Office in Yangon, the IT Assistant will provide ICT operational and technical support to ensure effective delivery of UNESCO corporate systems and services in Myanmar.
Main Tasks:
1. User Support and Helpdesk: Provide first-line desktop support for hardware, software, and network issues; diagnose and resolve connectivity and software problems; monitor and support ICT operations.
2. IT Operations and Equipment Support: Perform scheduled service requests including equipment replacement, software installation, LAN connectivity; maintain and track ICT assets including computers, printers, mobile devices, and conference equipment.
3. Systems, Documentation and Reporting: Record and update incidents and service requests in ticketing system; identify recurring issues and recommend corrective measures.
4. Coordination and Escalation: Escalate incidents to appropriate support teams; support the National ICT Officer in ICT-related responsibilities.
5. Training and Knowledge Sharing: Provide basic training to end-users on UNESCO systems; develop user guides and FAQs.
6. Cybersecurity, Business Continuity and Conferencing Support: Support cybersecurity measures including endpoint protection and patch management; assist with data backup and disaster recovery; provide technical support for meetings, workshops, webinars, and hybrid events.
Required Qualifications:
- Completed secondary education (High School Diploma) and/or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- At least 3 years of progressively responsible experience in ICT support or IT operations (reduced to 1 year for candidates with a university degree).
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365, Windows operating systems, network administration, and IT security practices.
- Knowledge of endpoint management solutions (e.g., Microsoft Intune).
- Excellent knowledge of English and Myanmar languages.
Contract: Service Contract, SC4 level, 12 months with initial 3-month probationary period. Only candidates with the right to live and work in Thailand may apply.
