The Olympic Refuge Foundation (ORF) Think Tank is looking for a fellow with lived experience of displacement to contribute to research and advocacy on the role of sport in supporting refugees and displaced people.
Running from September 2026 to August 2027, this part-time, remote fellowship recognises lived experience as expertise. It allows fellows to work alongside the ORF Think Tank to co-create knowledge, influence policy and strengthen practice.
The fellowship is open exclusively to individuals with lived or living experience of displacement, including refugees, asylum seekers, stateless people, internally displaced people and others affected by forced migration.
Prior academic publication, formal research training, or graduate or postgraduate study are not required. Applicants must be able to demonstrate a strong interest in the role of sport, physical activity or movement in supporting people affected by displacement or crisis. Experience or potential in relevant areas, such as research, writing, storytelling, advocacy, community leadership, programme delivery, youth engagement, creative practice, communications or policy, should also be demonstrated in the application.
Selected fellows will receive mentorship, professional development and a regular stipend while contributing to projects that support displaced communities through sport.
HOW TO APPLY:
Applications are processed through the Columbia University, Care and Protection of Children (CPC) Learning Network. Apply via the online form at the link provided. Applications close on 19 August at midnight EST.
