The Learning and Capability Lead develops, implements, and continuously improves War Child Alliance's learning and capability ecosystem, ensuring staff, leaders, and partners have the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required to deliver the organisation's strategy and mission. The role combines strategic thinking with hands-on implementation by designing learning frameworks, capability solutions, standards, and systems while leading their practical delivery across the Alliance and local partners. Working across functions and countries, it strengthens organisational capability through evidence-informed learning, innovation, quality assurance, and continuous improvement. Sitting within the People and Culture function, the role partners with leaders, managers, and teams across assigned functions, portfolios, or organisational entities. Key duties: lead the development and continuous improvement of the organisational learning and capability strategy; design and maintain learning frameworks, standards, methodologies, and minimum standards; develop structured learning pathways, capability programmes, and professional development journeys; lead blended, digital, and innovative learning solutions and communities of practice; partner with technical teams, country programmes, and strategic partners to strengthen localisation and sustainable capacity sharing; govern and optimise learning platforms (including Kaya LMS and digital badging); and analyse learning data to evaluate effectiveness. Requirements: qualification or equivalent experience in Learning & Development, Organisational Development, Education, HR, Psychology, Instructional Design, or Knowledge Management; experience developing organisational learning and capability initiatives in complex organisations; experience with digital learning solutions and learning analytics; work in international, humanitarian, development, or education environments; and fluency in English (Arabic, Dari, French, Spanish, or Ukrainian useful). Contract is a local contract with in-country salary scale; War Child does not offer relocation.
