SEI US seeks an Energy and Environment Analyst to join our Energy Modeling Program, which works to improve the quality and accessibility of the modeling behind the world's energy and climate policies. The program produces two of the most widely used energy and climate change mitigation modeling tools, the Low Emissions Analysis Platform (LEAP) and the Next Energy Modeling system for Optimization (NEMO), used by over 75,000 users in more than 190 countries. The team emphasizes connecting modeling to sustainable development, particularly in low and middle-income countries, and democratizing the use of models. As an analyst you will help build and use models, train and support partners, co-author reports and papers, and present at meetings and conferences. This is an entry-level position supporting the program through research, technical analysis, partner and stakeholder engagement, reporting, and program administration. Key responsibilities: data collection for model development (researching and documenting sources, compiling and formatting data sets); statistical analyses to provide model inputs (descriptive statistics, regressions); supporting the LEAP and NEMO user communities (answering questions, processing license requests, recording instructional videos, developing training exercises); stakeholder management and coordination; developing content for presentations; contributing to technical reports; assisting with training sessions; and supporting program administration. Required qualifications: a bachelor's or higher degree in a related discipline (natural sciences, engineering, computer science, economics, mathematics, statistics, or similar); demonstrated quantitative skills and experience in data collection and analysis; experience with computer programming for data analysis, quantitative modeling, and/or web development; fluency in spoken and written English; and authorization to work in the United States. Desirable: proficiency in additional languages; knowledge of energy/environmental modeling tools (LEAP, NEMO, TIMES/MARKAL, OSeMOSYS, MESSAGE); instructor/trainer experience; consulting or customer service work. Contract: Permanent, hybrid schedule (at least 1 in-office day per week), full or part-time (20-40 hours/week). Salary range: $57,300-$71,600, depending on qualifications.

HOW TO APPLY:
Submit your application through Workable, including: a cover letter highlighting your qualifications, experience, and interest in the position (maximum one page; if not based in the Boston area, specify availability to relocate); your CV or resume (maximum three pages); samples of or links to 1-2 publications, course papers, professional writing, or software tools you have authored; and copies of your post-secondary transcript(s). Applications should be written in English and without the aid of AI tools.
