The People Division Lead's primary role is to make One Acre Fund Burundi the best place to work in the country for development professionals looking to build a career in social impact. S/he will build best-in-class people functions to help recruit, develop and retain top talent, drive innovation across all HR and talent functions, and help maintain the organization's unique culture as the program scales in Burundi.

Responsibilities include: setting department vision and strategy; supporting People departments to deliver excellent service and set/achieve annual OKRs; participating in the Burundi Program's steering committee; managing HR, Corporate Operations, and dotted-line Recruitment and Training/L&D teams; growing the careers of department leaders via check-ins, workshops and bi-annual career reviews; leading human capital and talent management innovation including change management, candidate sourcing/outreach strategy, staff satisfaction and organizational design; overseeing corporate operations (health and safety, security protocols, emergency response, property management, visitor service); establishing internal communication and staff feedback channels; managing risk and ensuring labor-law compliance with the Legal and HR teams; and making data-driven decisions using an HRIS and satisfaction surveys.

Minimum requirements: University degree or Master's in law, human resources management or related field; at least 5 years experience in HR management and/or large/complex management; demonstrated people management and team development; strong decision-making, communication, and project management skills; ability to analyze data; emotional intelligence and empathy; English and French required, Kirundi an added value. Contract duration: 1 year renewable. Benefits: health insurance, housing, and comprehensive benefits. Preferred start date: as soon as possible. One Acre Fund can support a work permit; nationals of (or those with extensive background in) countries of operation are preferred.
