Through community organizing, CRC cultivates environmental awareness and gives local residents a voice in proactive resilience planning and adaptation initiatives, building social infrastructure and community resilience against climate-related stresses such as sea-level rise, displacement, and economic instability.

The Director of Programs is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing and managing the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Resilient Homes and Resilient Adaptation programs. This role requires strategic planning, project management, team leadership, policy analysis, and stakeholder engagement skills. It reports to the Executive Director and is a member of the four-person executive team.

Responsibilities span programmatic work (develop and implement strategies, monitor program budgets, track grant deliverables, evaluate programs), strategic planning (establish goals, secure resources, hire and supervise program managers, foster funder and partner relationships), leadership (manage vendors, direct reports, and program associates; report to leadership and Board), and policy analysis (serve as lead researcher and advocate on environmental justice policies, represent CRC in advocacy and coalitions, author public comment letters).

Desired qualifications: 5 years of experience as a program director or managerial role; strong project/program management knowledge; grant management and procurement experience; performance evaluation and key metrics knowledge; data analysis, reporting and budgeting; MS Office and program management software (Basecamp, MS Project); strong organizational, leadership, analytical, and communication skills; BSc/BA in management or relevant field (MSc/MA a plus); experience with environmental justice policy advocacy.

Compensation: full-time (40 hours/week) non-exempt position in Palo Alto, CA, salary range $95,000 to $115,500, with benefits including employer-funded health insurance, 403B retirement plan with 3% match, flexible schedule, and 5 weeks PTO.

HOW TO APPLY:
Applicants should submit a substantive and thoughtful cover letter describing their interest in the position and making the case for the relevance of their experience. The cover letter and resume should be submitted together via the application link (Google form / Justworks). Applications missing a cover letter or resume will not be considered. Applications will be accepted through August 7, 2026.
