Vacancy S/P/2026/008. Fixed-term regular staff, 1 year (renewable), within the Social Development Programme (SDP). Supervised by the Manager, Social Development Programme, the Associate Programme Officer provides substantive support to the delivery of SDP's training activities, in particular its Master's Programmes: preparing and conducting training needs assessments and draft assessment reports; assisting in the development, implementation and evaluation of training materials aligned with learning objectives; ensuring best practices in training methodologies are disseminated; supporting reporting to donors and partners; carrying out research in social development and training needs in international affairs including collecting, analysing and presenting data; participating in outreach activities by organizing workshops and seminars; and ensuring UNITAR's Quality Assurance and M&E Policy Frameworks are implemented. The role supports partnership enhancement by maintaining quality partnerships with key donors, identifying potential partners (international organisations, national governments, academia, research institutions, public and private sectors, and NGOs), contributing to project papers, concept notes and donor reports. It also supports daily SDP operations including financial, budgetary and administrative arrangements. Requirements: Advanced university degree (Master's or equivalent) in International Affairs, International Relations, Diplomacy, Business or related field (a first-level degree with two additional years of experience may be accepted). Minimum 2 years of progressively responsible experience in international affairs and project management within an international organisation (4 years for candidates with a first-level degree). Fluency in English required; French desirable. UNITAR does not charge a fee at any stage of recruitment.
