WORK CONTEXT:
CESVI is a secular and independent humanitarian organization founded in Bergamo in 1985 and operating in 28 countries around the world to support the most vulnerable populations in achieving their aspirations and sustainable development in respect of human rights. Because of the ideals of social justice, CESVI pursues the well-being of populations who are in conditions of poverty or affected by wars, natural disasters and environmental disasters.
CESVI's HQ is based in Bergamo and consists of several units, including the Logistics, Supply & Security Unit, responsible for the coordination of logistics, procurement, supply chain and security processes in support of international missions and the Organization's emergency and development programs. The Unit supports foreign missions in the management of purchasing processes, in the definition and implementation of operating procedures, in the monitoring of compliance with internal policies and donor regulations, as well as in activities related to operational safety, environmental sustainability and the digitization of logistics processes.
The selected resource will be placed within the Logistics, Supply & Security Unit and will work closely with the Head of Logistics, Supply & Security Unit, supporting transversal activities of analysis, operational implementation and monitoring of processes at the HQ level and foreign missions.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The internship will start in August/September 2026 and will last 6 months.
Main place of work: Bergamo.
The trainee will report to the Head of Logistics, Supply & Security Unit and will collaborate closely with the various Departments of the HQ headquarters and the logistical and operational contacts of the foreign missions.
The selected candidate will be trained and involved in the following activities:
• Support in the implementation and roll-out of the procurement & logistics digital platform "ACQUIRO"
• Support in the analysis of logistics and procurement processes of international missions
• Support in the monitoring and control of purchasing processes according to CESVI's internal policies and the rules of the main institutional donors
• Support in the drafting and updating of SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and technical and operational documentation
• Support for archiving and document management activities
• Involvement in activities related to environmental sustainability and monitoring of MERs-ECHO standards
• Support in monitoring security intelligence sources and collecting information useful for operational security
• Collaboration in internal training and capacity building activities of mission personnel on logistics and procurement processes
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree;
• Excellent knowledge of the English language, oral and written
• Excellent knowledge in the use of the apps of the Office package: Power Point, Word, Excel and Outlook
• Sensitivity and interest in humanitarian aid and development cooperation
• Interest and predisposition for study, research and writing;
• Good interpersonal skills and predisposition to interpersonal relationships;
• Ability to work independently;
• Attention to detail;
• Flexibility.
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS:
• Knowledge in the field of international cooperation and humanitarian aid;
• Knowledge of the basics of procurement in the humanitarian field;
• Knowledge of Spanish;
• Previous work experience in a similar field.

INTERNSHIP (CURRICULAR OR EXTRACURRICULAR) UP TO A MAXIMUM OF 6 MONTHS.
TOTAL HOURS: 25 HOURS/WEEK (MONDAY TO FRIDAY).
EXPENSE REIMBURSEMENT: €500/MONTH.
PLACE OF WORK: BERGAMO.
There is time flexibility in entry/exit and a Smart Working program (2 days/week).
