Lutheran World Relief, part of Corus International, has been present in Nepal since 2011. The RISE Fund project strengthens disaster preparedness, governance, and resilience in Nepal's most vulnerable provinces, Karnali and Sudurpaschim, running across multiple sectors to reduce humanitarian risks and build inclusive disaster risk management systems.

Components include Emergency Preparedness & Coordination, Shelter & Relief Support, Health & WASH Services, and Protection & Logistics, aiming to benefit over 30,000 individuals directly and 500,000 indirectly across 13 priority districts and 116 municipalities. The Project Manager - Provincial DRR Specialist will manage implementation of LWR's anticipated Humanitarian Response Project focused on DRR, emergency and humanitarian response, including identifying and supporting local partners, representing LWR with government and non-government sectors based at a Provincial Ministry (Karnali or Sudurpaschim). Responsibilities: Provincial Capacity Strengthening (30%), Coordination and Stakeholder Engagement (20%), Training and Technical Support (20%), Partner Management (20%), and Reporting and Communication (10%).

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree with at least 5 years' progressive experience designing, managing, implementing and monitoring DRR, health preparedness, emergency and humanitarian response projects; experience with local NGOs and community organizations; understanding of DRR, early warning, anticipatory early action, climate resilience and emergency health preparedness; familiarity with humanitarian standards (CHS, HAP, SPHERE); excellent English communication and Nepali fluency; ability to travel at least 80% of the time; proficiency in Office 365. Based in Nepal at the provincial level.
