The Institute for Economics & Peace (IEP) is a renowned international think tank dedicated to empirical approaches to analyse peace and quantify its economic value. IEP produces internationally recognised research, including the Global Peace Index and Global Terrorism Index, alongside influential reports examining the economic, social, and political drivers of peace and conflict. Headquartered in Sydney, IEP has offices in New York City, The Hague, Manila, and Nairobi, working with multilateral institutions, governments, NGOs, and development agencies worldwide.

Based in Sydney, this senior leadership role is responsible for shaping and delivering IEP's international image and communications strategy across press events, social media, training, direct mailing, newsletters, presentations, web content, and report production. Working closely with the executive leadership team, you will oversee a high-performing communications division, drive new approaches to improve impact, and build audience and uptake of its training courses. Relocation support is available.

Key Responsibilities: Lead development and delivery of IEP's marketing and communications strategy; oversee production of high-impact global publications and manage external PR relationships; manage and mentor a communications team of 3 professionals; develop the social media strategy; identify new communication strategies and partnerships; drive traffic to IEP's websites; oversee course development; lead recruitment and team capability-building; and support expansion of fee-paying work.

Essential Experience: Marketing and communications leadership within a think tank, business, consulting practice, international organisation, or NGO; expertise in international relations, geopolitics, or public policy; a track record of influential communication products with policy impact; experience leading small teams and multi-project portfolios; and success in business development, partnership development, or funding acquisition.
