IPPF seeks a Member Support & Development Director (full-time, fixed-term) based in the Africa Region. The role serves as a close ally to the Regional Director in supporting and developing Member Associations (MAs) and Collaborative Partners (CPs) across the Africa Region, leading the integrated support, growth and development of MAs and CPs while collaborating pro-actively with other Regions and Global functions to leverage Federation-wide impact.

Deliverables include: leading all MA-centric and MA-facing work in the African Regional Office; creating a framework that integrates MA/CP growth into delivery of the Federation Strategic Framework; conducting an annual MA health check of capabilities, capacities, governance and country contexts; devising an integrated plan of MA/CP-driven activities for capacity building, stronger governance and shared learning; creating an MA/CP service delivery platform providing funding and resource support; facilitating integrated programming and resource allocation; galvanising business development opportunities through proposals and donor reporting; and building, leading and mentoring a diverse team. The role is also the point of contact for IPPF Safe Report incident management.

Essential skills: proven success designing and delivering multi-country/regional SRHR programmes in international development; track record of building and implementing business plans/budgets in diverse settings with strong financial and budget management; experience in resourcing and performance monitoring; understanding of political, economic, social, legal and environmental contexts affecting the sector; excellent written/verbal communication in English and French (Portuguese/Spanish/Arabic a plus); strong monitoring and evaluation, planning and knowledge-sharing skills; and commitment to safeguarding, anti-racism, feminist and intersectional practice, and sexual and reproductive health rights including safe abortion.
