Impact and Accountability Project Officer – DDI Project
CIVICUS is a global alliance of over 17,000 members in over 180 countries that works to monitor violations of basic civic freedoms and strengthen the power of people to organise.
The Impact and Accountability Officer will work dynamically with the Impact & Accountability (I&A) Cluster and the Digital Democracy Initiative (DDI) team to design, implement, and strengthen program-specific MEL systems that are robust, adaptive, and aligned with CIVICUS's Integrated Results Framework.
The role is responsible for leading data-driven performance monitoring, outcome measurement, evaluation, and adaptive management processes across DDI's global portfolio of projects. The I&A Officer plays a key role in fostering a culture of learning, accountability, and evidence-informed decision-making, embedding partner-centered learning approaches, facilitating South-South knowledge exchange, and strengthening accountability to constituencies across a diverse and geographically distributed civil society network.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in MEAL, International Development, or equivalent; Master's degree strongly preferred
- Minimum 5–7 years' professional experience in MEAL, with at least 2–3 years in a similar role
- Fluency in English required; proficiency in French, Spanish, or Arabic is an advantage
- Proven experience in results-based and participatory MEL approaches (Contribution Analysis, Outcome Harvesting)
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, PowerBI and Smartsheet
- Familiarity with digital democracy themes (digital rights, algorithmic accountability, internet freedom, tech governance)
- Experience transforming monitoring data into compelling visual narratives using PowerBI, Tableau, or interactive graphics
- Experience working with historically excluded communities
