Job Purpose
This position will be responsible for designing the Silk, Muslin, Endi, Dupion, half Silk saree, Dupatta, Scarf, unstitched SKD and raw fabrics; bring product diversification and design variation
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct research on current fashion trends, consumer preferences, and market demand
• Collaborate with silk weaving centers to enhance design themes, moods, and concepts in alignment with the characteristics of silk yarn and available production facilities
• Create design sketches, mood boards, storyboards, color palettes, and select appropriate fabrics, patterns, and colors for product development
• Develop and ensure designs for silk sarees, dupattas, scarves, and fabrics that reflect the unique nature and qualities of different types of silk yarn
• Visit various silk production centers to generate new ideas, and stay updated on industry practices
• Develop product samples in line with brand positioning and costing guidelines, ensuring timely delivery while maintaining quality standards and established procedures.
• Oversee the production process to ensure designs are executed on schedule, within budget, and according to quality requirements.
• Monitor sales performance and market feedback to identify future customer needs and demand trends.
• Contribute to annual design planning through the development of relevant themes, mood boards, storyboards, color charts, and presentations.
• Build and maintain professional relationships with Aarong Design Department, BRAC Silk production centers, other silk producers, and silk entrepreneurs.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and other documentation as required by management.
• Maintain the liaison and communication with BDP office and Sericulture Enterprise management
• Perform any other jobs as assigned by the management
SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
• Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
• Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
Additional Job Requirements
• Education and Experience will be relaxed for the potential Candidates
• Knowledge on different types silk yarn like silk and it’s degumming and dyeing process
• Knowledge of fabric, patterns, embroideries, dye, prints, different types of raw materials and weaving process
• Excellent in creativity and imagination, with the ability to think outside the box
• Strong technical skills, including the ability to create sketches and use design software
• Required skills: Ability to anticipate change in fashion trends for fashion forecasting, understanding of different fabrics and clothes making, Flexibility to adapt designs to suit clients' needs
• Excellent in report writing, presentation prepare, people management, work prioritization, time management as well as the ability to adapt to work under pressure and challenging environment
Educational Requirements
The candidate must have B.S.C in Fashion design/ Textile design with minimum CGPA 2.50 or 2nd class/ division or equivalent result in all academic examinations
