Background of consultancy assignment/ Project
WWF-Myanmar has been working together with SMEs and supporting them to improve their understanding of the risks they are exposed to from a worsening water situation in their surroundings, and to improve their individual water practice. To strengthen the technical capacity of partners SMEs on their understanding on wastewater treatment technology, and to provide hands-on training on operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment system, WWF-Myanmar seeks to engage well-experienced, qualify consultant/consultant team to design and deliver a context-specific training program on wastewater treatment technologies.
Objective of the consultancy
The objective is to enhance technical capacity and practical knowledge of SMEs on wastewater quality, parameters, type of wastewater treatment technologies specific to the context of SMEs (especially under food and beverage, and aquaculture production sector in Myanmar)
Scope of work
The consultant/consultant team is expected to design and deliver a one-day, context-based wastewater training curriculum tailored for SME classroom sessions, including factory visits, recommendations on water/wastewater issues, and expert input to selected factories facilitated by WWF and MFPEA.

Required Profile and Expected Qualifications
The consultant/team should have:
- Advanced university degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Water Resource Management, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, or other related fields.
- Proven expertise in wastewater treatment technologies
- Experience working with SMEs for wastewater treatment plant installation, consulting SMEs for improvement of wastewater treatment plants, designing tailor-made wastewater treatment plant particularly in food & beverage and aquaculture sectors
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and water management in Myanmar
- Strong training facilitation and curriculum development experience
- Experience in conducting wastewater technical assessments
- Excellent writing skills in English
