Position Description

* The volunteer will support communications, digital engagement, and promotional activities across various UPG initiatives and teams.

Responsibilities may include:

* Supporting social media planning, scheduling, and publishing
* Assisting with campaigns, promotional activities, and community engagement
* Creating and adapting content for social media, websites, newsletters, and community communications
* Supporting coordination between program and communications teams
* Assisting with website updates and digital publishing activities
* Helping monitor engagement and social media performance
* Supporting visual storytelling, posters, graphics, reels, or short-form content creation
* Assisting with participant and stakeholder communications where needed
* Staying updated on UPG activities and identifying relevant stories and highlights to share
* Qualified candidates are welcome with a variety of skills. No single candidate is expected to possess all qualifications, as each volunteer brings unique strengths that complement the team.

Requirements & Skills

* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Interest in communications, storytelling, social media, marketing, or community engagement
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in multicultural remote teams
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
* Familiarity with social media platforms and digital communication tools
* Ability to work with and respect confidential information
* English is required; additional languages are an advantage

Nice to Have

* Experience with Canva, video editing, graphic design, or content creation
* Experience with social media analytics and engagement tracking
* Experience in communications, PR, marketing, non-profit, or community initiatives
* Confidence with live or online engagement activities is an advantage
* Motivated individuals looking to learn and grow through volunteer engagement are encouraged to apply

Location: The role is remote.

Dates: The initial duration is between 3 months and 1 year for this role. An extension is possible based on performance.
