The Super Pollutant Action Alliance (SPAA) is a philanthropic collaborative backed by leading climate foundations, focused on cutting super pollutants (methane, tropospheric ozone and black carbon) to reduce near-term global temperatures and save lives from reduced heat and air pollution. SPAA is an independent operating project of Multiplier, a nonprofit that accelerates impact for sustainability-focused initiatives.
Reporting to the Director of Operations and Impact, the Learning and Impact Manager will implement and refine the learning systems that enable SPAA to maximize its catalytic impact on the super pollutants field. The role operationalizes SPAA's monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) system: gathering evidence, analyzing it to generate insights, and communicating learnings to stakeholders and the wider field.
Key responsibilities:
- Learning system implementation and facilitation: support the learning strategy and agenda, co-design measurement frameworks for the theory of change, develop evidence trackers and templates for grantmaking, campaigns and convenings, track indicators of catalytic impact (co-funding secured, new strategies funded, policy breakthroughs), and design and facilitate learning reviews, portfolio reflections and workshops.
- Portfolio and ecosystem insight generation: analyze data and synthesize grantee reports, funder conversations and field signals to identify themes, challenges and strategic pivots, and assess SPAA's contribution to field advancement.
- Funder engagement, strategic reporting and field building: contribute to Steering Committee reports and executive briefings, design annual impact reports for funders and the public, support ecosystem convenings such as the CCAC Annual Meeting, and contribute thought leadership content.
Requirements: 5-7 years of relevant experience in one or more of MEL (learning systems, theories of change, evaluation), philanthropy and grantmaking, strategy consulting, or organizational learning. Experience in the Global South, climate/environment/energy sectors, or with philanthropic collaboratives is preferred. Full-time (40 hours/week), hybrid based in San Francisco or Washington D.C. (2 days per week in person), with a remote option in a time zone overlapping at least 4 hours with 9am-5pm EST. Travel of about 25%. Compensation: $110,000-$130,000 per year plus medical and dental benefits, retirement savings and generous leave.
