Location: Ayod, South Sudan

Reporting to the Shelter Non-Food Item (SNFI) Team leader, this position provides day-to-day supervision of construction and infrastructure activities, SNFI assessment and distribution, and oversight of SNFI Assistants. Responsibilities include supervising quality of SNFI materials (shelter repair kits and household NFIs) for distribution; contributing to bills of quantities, cost estimates and technical specifications for construction and SNFI activities; participating in assessment, verification and distribution of SNFIs, guiding vulnerable individuals on their use; supervising ongoing construction of shelter units built by vulnerable persons who received shelter materials; participating in meetings with community leaders, block leaders, the Relief and Rehabilitation Commission (RRC) and other implementing partners; quality control of materials and implemented activities; conducting rapid needs assessments during emergencies; preparing reports; ensuring observance of the DRC Code of Conduct; planning and organizing work schedules and supervising project team members; ensuring services meet SPHERE standards; and maintaining beneficiary data, field verification and handover documentation. Requirements: a diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Construction, Architecture or a related technical field; minimum 2 years of relevant experience (3+ years of NGO experience an advantage); proficiency in MS Office and CAD software such as AutoCAD or ArchiCAD; ability to prepare, interpret and supervise technical designs; strong planning, problem-solving, communication, negotiation and teamwork skills; experience in staff training and capacity building; experience working in complex, hardship contexts under tight deadlines; knowledge of local languages and Arabic is an advantage; and high professional ethics and integrity.
