Location: Bunia, Democratic Republic of the Congo
The Delegate is responsible for supporting and strengthening the MHPSS capacity of the National Society of the Democratic Republic of Congo (CRRDC) through strong working relationships and advocacy, including securing and supporting the MHPSS core team. The incumbent will assist in evaluation, development of activities and programs, technical support, and coordination of mental health and psychosocial support within the Bundibugyo Virus Disease (BVD) emergency operations, in collaboration with stakeholders, and develop a work plan for the recovery phase. Duties include evaluation, planning, M&E and program development of MHPSS activities; capacity building and supervision of MHPSS staff and volunteers; advocacy and liaison with Movement and non-Movement partners; reporting and visibility; and protection of staff and volunteer mental health and wellbeing, including crisis intervention when needed.
Requirements: university degree/postgraduate diploma in mental health or psychosocial support discipline; advanced postgraduate degree preferred; documented MHPSS training (Psychological First Aid, community-based MHPSS, M&E for MHPSS); 3-5 years solid experience assessing, planning, designing and implementing MHPSS activities; experience building MHPSS capacity in a National Society or humanitarian organization; experience training others in MHPSS methods; professional experience in humanitarian emergency settings, preferably international; experience mentoring volunteers and staff and working with communities. Fluency in English and French required; Spanish or Arabic an asset. 12-month non-family, unaccompanied assignment.
