Nigeria faces a complex and protracted humanitarian crisis driven by armed conflict, insecurity, climate-related shocks, displacement, and economic challenges. NRC has been operating in Nigeria since 2015, delivering humanitarian assistance and durable solutions to conflict-affected and displaced populations across Education, ICLA, Shelter, WASH, and Protection from Violence. The Finance Manager is responsible for ensuring a functional finance structure in the country office, providing optimal support to programme implementation. The role plays a key part in financial planning and analysis and allocation of financial resources.
Responsibilities include overseeing implementation of finance policies, procedures and strategies; line management and technical supervision of finance staff in country and area offices; developing and maintaining country financial documents and procedures; maintaining the country's overall budget control and monitoring cash flows; ensuring budgeting, accounting, and year-end procedures adhere to the Financial Handbook and donor/auditor requirements; training staff and partners on financial and budgeting responsibilities; and implementing the Anti-Corruption Policy.
Requirements: minimum three years' experience in a senior finance role with managerial responsibility in a humanitarian/recovery context; bachelor's degree in a relevant field; working proficiency in English; previous experience in Central and West Africa preferable; experience in risk management with implementing partners and remote management.
Duty station: Abuja, Nigeria. Contract: 24 months renewable, grade 9 on NRC's salary scale (national/resident or international/mobile depending on profile).
