Senior People Operations Associate
Location: Brussels, Belgium
The Pooled fund on International Energy (PIE) is an international grant making and strategy platform working to secure a safe climate, clean air and prosperity through a just transition in the power and steel sectors, formed in 2013 as a platform of the European Climate Foundation and now transitioning to an independent organisation. The Senior People Operations Associate will be a key member of PIE's growing People & Culture function, reporting to the Director of People & Culture. This hands-on role focuses on international payroll, HR administration, Employer of Record management, HR systems, compliance and documentation across multiple countries and jurisdictions, including Belgium, Germany, France, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. Responsibilities include managing core HR processes across the employee lifecycle for a globally distributed team, overseeing payroll administration, ensuring GDPR and local labour law compliance, supporting implementation of a centralized HRIS/ATS, maintaining accurate employee records, and providing responsive people support. Requires minimum 5 years of HR Operations experience in an international, multi-country environment, demonstrated experience managing international payroll and EOR providers, strong vendor and stakeholder management skills, and attention to detail. Exposure to nonprofit, NGO, or mission-driven organisations is a plus. Location is flexible, requiring ability to work within 2 hours of CET timezone and periodic travel to Europe. Contract is a 2-year term with intention to become permanent.
