The Transport Research Intern will join WRI Indonesia's Cities and Transport Program in Jakarta (hybrid, 8 office days per month) for a paid, full-time, 3-month internship. The role supports WRI Indonesia's e-mobility portfolio, which aims to cut cities' greenhouse gas emissions through sustainable transportation and vehicle electrification. It also supports the Indonesia Freight Decarbonization Accelerator (IFDA), a project to develop a policy framework and proof of concept for the National Green Logistics Corridor Initiative and speed up zero-emission heavy-duty vehicle adoption.
Responsibilities: work with the Urban Mobility team on research related to electric mobility strategies; conduct desk research and stakeholder interviews; analyze mobility data; help prepare reports, presentations and other research materials; support IFDA strategy and stakeholder engagement activities; assist with policy and regulatory analysis on electric mobility and zero-emission vehicles; help with event planning, data collection and processing; and assist with meetings and external communications. The intern reports to the Electric Mobility Program Lead and receives regular supervision, feedback and mentoring.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in transportation, urban planning, civil engineering, economics or a related field (final-year students welcome); interest in transportation, green mobility, environment and low-carbon technology; basic research and data analysis experience; strong motivation, proactive work style and organizational skills; willingness to work from Jakarta and travel to other provinces or cities if assigned; proficiency in English and Bahasa Indonesia; legal eligibility to enroll in an internship in Indonesia.
