Location: Bogotá, Colombia
The Grants Coordinator supports the MIRE+ Consortium Manager, or leads in their absence, on all grant management tasks at consortium level. This includes supporting strategic decision-making and programme coordination, independently coordinating and preparing donor proposals, reports and amendments, supporting partners in preparing their donor documents, carrying out project cycle management (PCM) tasks and building the team's PCM capacity, maintaining regular contact with donors, tracking potential funding opportunities, and developing, improving and updating key grant management tools.
Key responsibilities:
- Follow NRC policies, guidelines and procedures, and take NRC's global and regional strategies into account.
- Maintain an overview of all grants, donor requirements, rules and regulations, and internal and external deadlines.
- Coordinate the development of donor applications and reports, and ensure donor compliance and quality control.
- Coordinate the preparation and review of funding proposals, budgets and donor reports.
- Stay up to date on donor priorities and trends, and track and share relevant calls for proposals.
- Document, analyse and share learning from the reporting and proposal process.
- Provide an internal help desk on donor matters, including training on donor rules and on writing proposals and reports.
- Support external donor audits.
- Represent partners and donors as delegated.
- Attend donor meetings and humanitarian coordination meetings as required.
- Lead the organisation of project kick-off, follow-up and closure meetings at consortium level.
- Track ongoing projects, raise alerts on risks and obstacles, and request formal donor amendments when needed.
- Coordinate with finance and communications departments and with consortium partners.
- Track new opportunities with commercial, private and development donors and potential strategic partners.
- Travel to the field to give ad hoc support to teams.
- Contribute to implementing the Minimum Standards for Safe and Inclusive Programming.
Qualifications:
- At least four (4) years of relevant experience in the field.
- Project management experience in the humanitarian sector.
- Experience working with humanitarian and development donors and partners; good knowledge of donor rules and regulations.
- Strong report and proposal writing skills, plus strong communication, coordination, interpersonal and analytical (data and financial) skills.
- Ability to mediate in high-stress situations with competing interests.
- University degree in social sciences, development, international relations or a related field.
- Fluent written and spoken English (C1 certification).
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills; advanced Excel is essential.
- Experience with donors such as ECHO, SDC (COSUDE), BHA and AECID is valued.
