Location: Yangon (with travel to Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh), Myanmar
DRC has worked in Myanmar since 2008 and Bangladesh since 2013. The Head of Programme (Myanmar and Bangladesh) is responsible for programme strategy and oversight in both countries, promoting synergy and joint positioning on displacement in and from Myanmar. Based in Yangon with travel to both operational areas, and part of the Senior Management Team, the role guides overall programme strategy, technical guidance, fundraising and quality assurance. Responsibilities include: developing and rolling out programme strategy aligned with contextual changes; overseeing effective implementation of projects per donor requirements; fostering synergy across programme areas; ensuring fundraising strategy, concept notes, proposals and donor reports are delivered on time and to quality; supporting technical teams and Area Managers; institutionalising monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning systems; developing programme staff capacity; and liaising with donors, partners, UN agencies and government counterparts on representation and localization strategy. Requirements: degree in Social Sciences, International Development or equivalent experience; at least 5 years managing complex programme operations in humanitarian/development contexts, including 3 years in senior management; experience in conflict-affected environments; strong skills in proposal development, budgeting, M&E; proven leadership and coordination with governments and NGO partners; full professional English proficiency. Contract: DRC Regular contract with 3-month probation, start date Jan 2027 onward, Employment Band E.
