The Strategic Initiatives Manager plays a critical role in supporting the Head of Programmes in the strategic and quality management of programmes within Danish Refugee Council, focused on expanding, managing and technically supporting programmes centered on durable solutions, commercial contracting, and/or multi-country programming in Sudan. Responsibilities include contributing to the Country Office's strategic plan; engaging in fundraising, project design, proposal writing and donor relationships; designing and implementing context-specific programme strategies; overseeing planning, execution and monitoring of multi-country programmes; serving as Project Director for Commercial Contracts; leading and mentoring project managers and staff; serving as a key liaison with government bodies, community organizations, donors, and other NGOs; developing monitoring and evaluation frameworks; preparing reports for the Head of Programmes; and assisting in budget preparation and compliance oversight. Requirements: university degree (bachelor's or master's) in a relevant field; minimum 7 years of relevant experience in INGO programmes in conflict settings; demonstrated technical skills in durable solutions and/or commercial contracting; experience in high-level representation with external partners (UN, donors); proven record of successful fundraising and donor engagement including multi-million-dollar proposals; strong writing and analysis skills; experience with Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning; proficient IT skills; fluency in written and spoken English, with Arabic an added advantage. One-year contract with possibility of extension, start date November 2026.
