PATH is a global nonprofit dedicated to achieving health equity. PATH seeks a Consultant Clinical Research Associate with expertise in in vitro diagnostic (IVD) clinical validation studies. The consultant will provide operational and technical support to the planning, monitoring, execution, analysis, and dissemination of IVD validation studies conducted in diverse global settings, including low- and middle-income countries. Studies may include evaluations of rapid diagnostic tests, molecular assays, digital tools, and other emerging diagnostic technologies for priority epidemic and pandemic-prone pathogens. The consultant will work closely with study investigators, laboratory partners, implementing organizations, regulatory experts, and country stakeholders to ensure studies are conducted in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Good Clinical Laboratory Practice (GCLP), and applicable regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include supporting study design and implementation, developing study documents and protocols, supporting ethics and regulatory submissions, conducting study monitoring, reviewing source documentation and case report forms, identifying protocol deviations, and contributing to scientific publications and dissemination. Required: advanced degree in clinical research, public health, epidemiology, microbiology, laboratory medicine, or related discipline; minimum 5 years supporting clinical research studies involving investigational products (preferably IVDs); professional working proficiency in both French and English; demonstrated GCP monitoring experience; knowledge of clinical research operations and regulatory requirements; willingness to travel internationally. Preferred: experience in outbreak response or global health programs, infectious disease diagnostics, studies in Africa, Southeast Asia or Latin America, and clinical research certification. This position is remote, with preference for candidates based in the DRC, other African countries, or Europe.
