Location: Hanoi, Vietnam
Lutheran World Relief, part of Corus International, seeks a Project Manager for the RISE Fund project in Viet Nam, an 11-month position (extendable subject to funding) to strengthen disaster preparedness, governance, and resilience in vulnerable provinces. The program spans four components: Emergency Preparedness & Coordination, Shelter & Relief Support, Health & WASH Services, and Protection & Logistics. The Project Manager will work with provincial governments and communes across northern, central and southern Vietnam to strengthen government DRR and Health systems.
Responsibilities include facilitating RISE project coordination with government stakeholders at federal, provincial and local levels; strengthening policy and institutional frameworks for DRR and Health; supporting community-based DRR through surveillance and early warning; building government capacity for risk-informed planning, budgeting and monitoring; integrating Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) into DRR/Health systems; reviewing and helping reform DRR/HA policies and institutional frameworks; designing training modules; facilitating multi-stakeholder coordination between ministries, provincial/local governments and humanitarian clusters; supporting digital platforms for disaster preparedness and early warning; and documenting lessons learned and knowledge products.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Business Administration, or related field with at least 5 years' progressive experience managing DRR, health preparedness, emergency and humanitarian response projects; experience with local NGOs and community organizations; experience living/working in developing countries preferred; understanding of humanitarian standards (CHS, HAP, Sphere); fluency in English and Vietnamese; ability to travel at least 80% of the time; proficiency in Office 365. Authorization to work in Vietnam required.
