The Billing Analyst II works with departmental staff to ensure invoicing documents conform to Funder contract standards, company guidelines, US Government FAR, CAS and 2 CFR 200 regulations, and that invoices are transmitted to Funders promptly. The role reads and interprets contractual billing terms, and supports the contract billing and revenue recognition department.
Key responsibilities:
- Perform intermediate-level billing activities for all project types (CPFF, T&M, Fixed Price) across various customers, within the contract billing, AR and revenue recognition department.
- Prepare bills, reconcile invoices and complete NICRA rate adjustments using the financial billing system.
- Analyze costs incurred against contractual, company and federal requirements to determine billable costs and required supporting documentation.
- Identify and escalate system invoice calculation errors and billing/payment issues.
- Reconcile project costs to billed costs and maintain complete billing records; produce a monthly reconciliation explaining any unbilled costs.
- Submit timely, accurate invoices to funders directly or through online customer portals.
- Collaborate with program staff and external clients so invoices comply with budgets and contractual documents.
- Create custom reports and participate in special research and analytical projects.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or international equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a combination of education and experience in a related field.
- Minimum 3+ years' experience in accounting, finance, billing or a related field; knowledge of work breakdown structures.
- Advanced skills in MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and data entry/automated accounting systems.
- Prior work experience in an NGO preferred.
- Understanding of US Government FAR, CAS and 2 CFR 200 regulations and GAAP.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, dispute resolution and communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
Full time. Travel less than 10%. US-based salary range: USD 55,000 - 80,000 annually.
