The Nirapon Project is a workplace safety initiative implemented in collaboration with BRAC to promote safer working conditions in Bangladesh's garment industry. The project focuses on improving factory safety through training, awareness, and effective safety management systems. It provides safety education to factory managers, trainers, and workers and encourages workers to participate in identifying and addressing safety risks. The project aims to build a sustainable culture of workplace safety and protect workers from occupational hazards.
Job Purpose:
The Manager, MIS & MEAL will design, develop, and manage the programme's MIS and MEAL systems, ensuring timely and reliable data collection, analysis, reporting, and visualisation. The role will track programme progress and results, document learning, and generate credible evidence to support effective decision-making and continuous improvement of the social compliance programme.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design, develop, and operationalise comprehensive MIS tools and digital platforms using Excel, Access, ActivityInfo, Kobo, ODK, or other suitable systems for data collection, validation, processing, and reporting.
* Coordinate and ensure timely collection, processing, analysis, and reporting of high-quality programme data across all activities.
* Review and analyse programme data, reports, and documents to identify evidence gaps, emerging trends, lessons learned, and best practices, and translate findings into evidence-based reports to support programme decision-making.
* Develop and maintain real-time dashboards to track project indicators, training performance, programme progress, and compliance metrics.
* Design, develop, and implement MEAL frameworks, tools, guidelines, and implementation plans covering programme processes, progress, outcomes, and impact.
* Conduct routine field monitoring and quality checks, dedicating approximately 50% of working time to field-level monitoring and verification.
* Coordinate with BRAC's MEAL Department to support MIS validation, surveys, data quality assessments, and other MEAL requirements.
* Ensure compliance of all MEAL activities with BRAC's safeguarding protocols, data protection standards, and relevant organisational policies.
Additional Job Requirements:
* Sound understanding of NGOAB requirements, VAT and Tax regulations, and donor compliance standards.
* Strong financial acumen with the ability to interpret financial information and support effective decision-making.
* Good understanding of organisational policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
* Strong communication, report writing, documentation, and meeting minutes skills.
* Effective time management and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
* Strong computer literacy, including data management, online research, and digital documentation.
Safeguarding Responsibilities:
* Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
* Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
* Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounts, Business Administration, or any other related discipline.
Experience Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of experience in MIS management, monitoring, evaluation, and learning within the development sector with at least 2 years of demonstrated experience in developing and managing MIS platforms for complex projects. Experience with ActivityInfo or RDBMS preferable with proven experience in the full cycle of managing MEAL activities - starting from designing to reporting.
