Location: Herat, Afghanistan

Under the overall supervision of the CEA Program Coordinator, the direct supervision of the Senior Program Assistant and the administrative supervision of the relevant HSO, the successful candidate will contribute to Community Engagement and Accountability (CEA) activities. Core duties include conducting daily assessment activities such as group consultations, key informant interviews (KIIs) and focus group discussions (FGDs) as per assessment tools and CEA operational plans, producing detailed transcripts and summaries of consultations, and conducting outreach and feedback collection with target community members through community meetings and helpdesks to raise awareness about programmes and community feedback mechanisms.

Required qualifications: High school diploma or certificate with a minimum of two years of relevant experience in community mobilization, data collection procedures and data entry processes. Experience working in the target provinces applied for, conducting community outreach, household assessments or surveys is required; experience liaising with the Afghan Government, UN agencies and NGOs is an advantage. Familiarity with mobile data collection technologies such as KoBo or ODK is an advantage.

Languages: Working level in Dari and Pashto required; fluent English is a strong advantage.

Skills: Ability to conduct interviews and administer questionnaires with neutrality, empathy and professionalism; knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); attention to detail and demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality. This role has no team management responsibility. Qualified female candidates are highly encouraged to apply.
