The Immunobiology, Nutrition and Toxicology unit under the Nutrition Research Division conducts multiple research projects. Among the ongoing studies, the Shigella Conjugate Vaccine study evaluates the protective efficacy, immunogenicity and safety of S. Flexneri-S. Sonnei bivalent conjugate vaccine against diarrhea caused by Shigella infection in children aged 6 months to 5 years. The Field Assistant will report to the Supervisor/Field Research Officer and will be mainly responsible for supporting project implementation, including: visiting study sites as per the plan of the supervisor; supporting enrolment of eligible study participants; receiving and ensuring proper handling of clinical specimens; collecting clinical and socio-demographic information from study participants; ensuring proper labelling, storage, and transportation of specimens to the laboratory; maintaining study-related records; and performing other project-related activities as assigned by the Supervisor. Required qualifications: SSC or equivalent; at least 1 year of experience in a relevant field; candidates with working experience in vaccine trials will be given preference. Number of Positions: 8. Contract Type: Short Term, Contractual Services Agreement (CSA) basis; duration 6 months with possibility of extension, subject to availability of funds and performance. Salary & Benefits: Tk. 29,308/- per month (consolidated) inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances; festival bonus, income tax paid by icddr,b, and subsidized canteen. Transport and daycare facilities are subject to space availability.
