Caritas Zürich, an independent Catholic relief organisation, is recruiting a Project Coordinator (60%) for its 'Flickstuben' (mending workshops) and 'Info-Tische' (information desks) offered under its LernLokal education and integration programme, starting 1 January 2027 or by agreement. The Flickstuben, run across eight locations in the canton of Zürich, give migrant women the opportunity to acquire sewing skills, connect with the local population, and gain a first reference for job seeking, laying important groundwork for the social and economic integration of women with a migration background. The Info-Tische are low-threshold points of contact for newly arrived residents, providing multilingual initial information and orientation support. Responsibilities include operational coordination and supervision of the eight Flickstuben sites; recruitment, induction, and support of around 35 volunteers who run the workshops locally; ensuring quality and further developing the offering; networking with municipalities, parishes, and social/specialist agencies; project documentation and reporting; contributing to fundraising; public relations and communication; and administrative tasks. For the Info-Tische, duties include coordinating and running the information desks and providing multilingual initial information to newcomers. The main focus of the role is on the Flickstuben, with roughly half a day per week dedicated to the Info-Tische. Requirements: a university degree in social work, social pedagogy, or a comparable field; solid knowledge of the social services landscape in the canton of Zürich and the migration sector; experience working with and supervising volunteers; strong planning, organisational, and coordination skills; intercultural competence and high social skills with enjoyment working with people of diverse backgrounds; additional languages and sewing/mending skills are an advantage; a category B driving licence and willingness to work Tuesday to Thursday. Place of work: Zürich.
