The Procurement Manager provides strategic and operational leadership of procurement and inventory management at the Science for Africa Foundation, overseeing procurement planning, sourcing, supplier and contract management, inventory management, cost optimisation, and supply chain risk management. The role ensures value for money, compliance with the Foundation's policies and Code of Ethics, and adherence to fairness, transparency, efficiency and accountability. Key duties include leading development and implementation of procurement strategy; coordinating annual procurement planning with Finance and departments; overseeing procurement policies, SOPs and workflows; leading tender and sourcing processes including preparation, advertising, evaluation, negotiation and supplier debriefing; maintaining a supplier database and managing vendor performance; managing the full lifecycle of procurement contracts including negotiation, renewal and close-out; maintaining a procurement risk register and ensuring segregation of duties; leading, coaching and mentoring the procurement team; acting as business owner of procurement processes within the procure-to-pay system; and overseeing asset disposal processes. The role reports to the Chief Operating Officer within the Professional Services department.
