NRC is looking for a Humanitarian Access and Safety Manager to join the Afghanistan mission. The role holder will ensure compliance with minimum standards and reduction of overall risk to operations, developing and updating strategies, plans, and procedures, implementing mitigation measures, and coordinating training courses. Key responsibilities include: Humanitarian Access and Safety Risk Management System implementation; Global Health, Safety, and Security Management System development; risk management culture promotion; oversight and support for staff, assets, operations, and reputation of NRC; strategic advice to country management; development and maintenance of documents, procedures, guidance, tools, strategy, and budgets; line management of staff including performance management, workforce planning, recruitment, induction, and development; support, training, and capacity development of NRC staff; and networking and coordination with external security actors. Candidates should have senior management experience in a humanitarian/recovery context, exposure to humanitarian access analysis and civil-military coordination, staff training and mentoring expertise, exposure to complex and volatile security contexts, and fluency in English. Duty station is Kabul, Afghanistan, on a 12-month contract with approximately 60% travel, at Grade 9 in NRC's International Salary Scale.
