GGGI seeks an Individual Consultant to support the Industrial Processes and Product Use (IPPU) component of Pakistan's Long-Term Low Emission Development Strategy (LT-LEDS). The consultant will conduct analysis to determine the emissions baseline, business-as-usual (BAU) scenario, and low emission development scenarios for the IPPU sector; write the relevant IPPU sections of the LEDS report; and prepare and deliver presentations to government and non-government stakeholders. Responsibilities include preparing materials and participating in stakeholder consultations and workshops, collecting and validating data and policy documents, developing baseline and alternative scenarios with clear assumptions, preparing written reports with tables, charts, and graphics, developing high-level costing and financing options for selected IPPU measures, proposing a basic MRV framework outline, and writing the final IPPU chapter of the LEDS document. The consultant reports to the Global Technical Lead at GGGI HQ Seoul and the in-country Project Lead, working as part of a team with other LEDS consultants. Assignment runs through June 30, 2027, with deliverables spaced across the period. Requirements: an advanced university degree in Environmental Management, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field; at least 5 years of relevant experience in sustainable industrial processes, industrial emissions, carbon accounting, and emission reduction or climate policy implementation in the industrial sector; prior experience working with government institutions, IOs, academic institutions, and/or NGOs in developing countries (Pakistan experience an advantage); understanding of industrial processes and emissions from cement, steel, cotton, chemical and other industries; knowledge of life cycle assessment and of national/international climate policies including the Paris Agreement and UNFCCC guidelines; strong Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills; and strong analytical, writing, and editing skills in English.
