IsraAID is an international humanitarian aid organization supporting recovery and resilience-building in Southwestern Uganda (Nakivale Settlement and Nyakabande transit centre). The Head of Programs provides strategic and operational leadership for all IsraAID Uganda programmes across Kampala, Nakivale, and Nyakabande. The role is responsible for implementation, quality, coherence, and impact of all projects, serving as the primary programme lead within the Country Management Team, working closely with the Country Director, donor focal points, MEAL, and HQ technical advisors.
Key responsibilities include: strategic oversight of WASH, Nutrition, Child Protection and other programmes; leading programme planning, design and implementation; ensuring donor compliance and quality reporting; supervising senior programme staff (WASH Officer, Area Project Officers, Senior Nutrition Officer); leading donor relations, narrative reporting, and proposal development; building partnerships with government, UN agencies, NGOs and CBOs; overseeing programme budgeting and compliance; and monitoring programmatic, operational and contextual risks.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, International Relations, Public Health or related field (Master's preferred); minimum 6 years' progressive experience in humanitarian/development programming including at least 3 years in senior management; experience managing multi-sectoral programmes (WASH, Nutrition, Child Protection, MEAL) across multiple field locations; experience in refugee/displacement/humanitarian-response settings; donor-funded grants management and compliance experience; proven staff supervision and team leadership; strong PCM, MEAL, budget management and proposal-writing skills; excellent English communication skills. Contract duration is 12 months with possibility of extension, start date 1 November 2026.
