The Project Assistant will provide telephone caregiver surveys in Sierra Leone. The survey asks caregivers of school-age children how their children spend the week: time at school, time helping at home, and any other work. Findings will support senior project staff in identifying program participants to ensure efficient implementation of projects within the country office. Responsibilities include conducting structured telephone interviews with selected caregivers, obtaining informed consent, administering the questionnaire accurately and consistently, recording responses using the designated data-collection system, applying non-leading probes, maintaining respondent confidentiality, conducting callbacks, and escalating concerns to the Project Manager. Requirements: High School education with at least one year of experience; experience conducting household or telephone interviews or comparable data collection work; experience on a survey involving children, households, or social protection; completion of safeguarding and child-protection training prior to start; fluency in English and Krio, plus one of Mende, Temne or Soso; confidence using a smartphone or tablet; familiarity with ODK, Survey CTO, Kobo Toolbox or similar; strong organizational skills and attention to detail. This is a two-week temporary engagement conducted primarily by telephone, with availability required outside normal office hours or on weekends.
